Benefits of Chapter Membership

 

We cordially extend an invitation to you to join our organization.

The most valuable purchase you can make is an investment in yourself by joining an organization that is dedicated to improving your performance and obtaining more value for increasingly scarce tax dollars. By joining the Washington State Chapter of NIGP, you will become a member of a professional organization dedicated to the principles and needs of the public purchasing profession.


Who is eligible for full membership?

    • performing procurement and material management activities in a public organization including federal, state, county, municipality and township, public school, college and university, hospital, commission, authority and any other public agency
    • employed full or part time in positions having a direct influence on the public procurement process, including elected officials, department heads and educators

    • Networking and interacting with purchasing professionals throughout the State of Washington.
    • Funding assistance for educational training.

How it works?

  • The annual membership fee for Washington State Chapter members is $40. This fee is often paid by the individual member's agency and is indicative of the value the agency places on the importance of the purchasing profession. As a reminder, chapter membership is not included in national membership.

Individual (Full/Regular)

$40 per person

Available to Washington public employees whose principal job functions
involve public administration, procurement, contracting,
or materials management, or a related field.


Student

$0 per person

Available to accredited Washington college and university students, teachers, research specialists, department heads, directors, and deans with a focus on business or public administration, public purchasing or materials management, or a related field.


Honorary

$0 per person

Available to chapter members who retire from public service in good standing and individuals with distinguished contributions to the procurement profession, NIGP, or this chapter (as approved by the Chapter Board).
